— Chapter Five —

The Steward

Concierge services, at your leisure. Frequently asked, patiently answered. Ask what you will — the stone reveals itself in time.

Q. 01

What is it that you actually do?

We run the back-office for small, particular businesses — the bookkeeping, the payroll, the systems, the SOPs, the things on your list that are not the reason you got into business in the first place. See Chapter One for the full dossier.

Q. 02

Do you replace my accountant?

We complement them. We assist you in running your business so that when tax time comes, you are ready — the bookkeeping, monthly close, and day-to-day, kept tidy on purpose. Depending on the size of your operation, a tax professional may still be advisable; we hand off clean records so theirs is the easy half.

Q. 03

How are engagements priced?

Our billing model is designed to ebb and flow with you as you navigate the waves and uncertainty of running a small business — a monthly retainer, scoped to your actual volume and systems complexity, reviewed quarterly. No hourly billing. No surprise invoices.

Q. 04

Do you really reset Apple IDs?

Yes. Since 2007. It is, statistically, the single most requested item in our history. The tagline was not a joke until it became one.

Q. 05

What sorts of businesses do you take on?

The word Hospitality in our name is a callback to the proprietor's first fifteen years in restaurants and hotels — not a definition of the practice. In truth, we work with all manner of small and particular businesses: wellness studios and coaching practices, nonprofits and private foundations, lifestyle brands and apparel lines, yacht operations, creative studios, solopreneurs, and — yes — the occasional restaurant group. Our current focus is Claude implementation and tech-stack consulting for small-business entrepreneurs — we build AI agents and Model Context Protocol servers, rationalize the software stacks that have quietly accumulated, and handle the back-office work underneath. If you run something, we can likely help. Industry matters less than scale: small enough to know everyone by name, structured enough to have a P&L.

Q. 06

How do we begin?

It begins with a Zoom call — fifteen minutes, scheduled at your convenience. The link to book one lives on the Correspondence page. If we are a good match, a one-page proposal follows within the week.

Further questions may be directed to the Correspondence desk.
